Detour... Temerloh to Sungkai

My attempt to go on relief mission for flood victim in Temerloh this weekend went on smoke as it was a very last minute plan, especially for someone who has never been to any relief mission before. I even asked kiahronggeng how many underwear I should bring for the weekend :-) and the fact that I had to look for a pair of 'Phua Chu Kang' boot, I decided to probably join the mission in some other time.

So, the eagerness to go somewhere this weekend has resorted me to another 'very very last minute plan', the Sg Klah Hot Spring Recreational Park, about 5km from the Sungkai toll off PLUS Highway. Thanks to OmbakHijau who was there over the Christmas break and who promoted this place to me, the place was the best decision kiahronggeng, delinn and I could arrived to in a two- or three-hour plan.

We planned to make it big, inviting everyone we know and we met at JP's tag, but since it was a very last minute decision and that many of those with families are preparing their children for the new school term, and we are the three most eligible bachelors around, the plan went ahead as scheduled.

The last minute thingy didn't stop there, kiahronggeng even asked me to prepare breakfast at 11pm the night before, which of course I didn't prepare. So, we just had our breakfast in Tesco Extra near my apartment. note: Earlier on, kiahronggeng was so motivated that she sms us saying she would prepare English, yes English, breakfast for us. Later on, she found out that the cabbage she bought has been used for cooking. That's why she then asked me to prepare breakfast. Calon isteri solehah nih...

After breakfast, (we had to limit our gossiping time during breakfast, otherwise we would just end up having our breakfast the whole morning), off we went to Sungkai, had lots of fun along the way, had fun while soaking ourselves in the hot spring, while changing clothes, while taking pictures, while looking for something to eat from Sungkai to Slim River to Trolak to Behrang and to Tanjong Malim and on the way back.

Enjoy this uncensored pictures...

Gendang gendut tali kecapi

I went to watch the full-dress rehearsal of the World Drums Festival in Dataran Merdeka last night. It was a colorful and very entertaining event as every participating country was performing superbly despite the event being just a rehearsal.

Though, two things playing in my mind...
1. Of eight countries participating, only Venezuela is geographically outside the Asian region, which would be more appropriate if the event is called Asian Drums Festival (with Venezuela as special appearance nation).

2. Malaysia is represented by YAWA Eco Drum Circle, a musical percussion group that incorporates everyday object/recyclable materials, such as plastic bottles, pots & pans, basins, plastic bags, that are turned into musical percussion instruments. Call it creative or stupid, they were chosen to represent Malaysia, a country where various types of gendang can be found, namely kompang, rebana, rebana ubi, gong, etc etc.

Anyway, enjoy this video clip from the show last night...

Serupa dua pelanduk

This entry is classified as merapu - Tidak digalakkan untuk ditontoni ibu-ibu yang sedang loya-loya mengandung.

Korang ingat tak a friend of mine yang aku kata adalah rupa sesikit dengan Thierry Henry, bintang bola pujaan aku tu? Tak ingat? Hmmm.... recap sini...

Then, aku pun dah lama macam terasa yang aku ni dikelilingi artis sebab aku dapat rasakan Will Smith adalah rupa sesikit dengan seorang kawan aku ni. Tapi bila aku tengok Will Smith, lainlah pulak. Until I've watched I Am Legend, bila Will Smith tu ada janggut jarang-jarang pendek-pendek ada uban-uban sikit-sikit, rambut pun tipis... barulah ada rupa lebih sesikit dengan seorang kawan aku ni.

Korang ingat tak entry yang aku review I Am Legend tu? Tak ingat? Hmmm.... recap sini. Aku ada sebut "Or I may assign my friend Cheng to play Robert Neville, adalah iras-iras Will Smith. Ada ke? Boleh laaa... hahahah... mampos nanti Bentara Guru bomohkan aku." So, dengan ketakmahiran superimpose yang aku ada ni, korang tengoklah ada tak keira-irasannya? Hahahahah....

Kali ni, aku rasa memanglah Bentara Guru bomohkan aku kali nih... kekekekeke...

Ada sorang lagi kawan aku, mukanya adalah rupa sesikit macam Zaidi Omar, pelakon drama tu. Kamal, nanti email gambar kau, aku nak superimpose... hahahahhaha....

Kuning warna lembu

What's missing from the picture below?

Give up?
The likes of FRUs and Police...
Shouldn't FRUs and Police be around when there are bunch of people in YELLOW?

Owh.. it wasn't a BERSIH gathering, pardon me...
But they were BERSIHing the place, right?
Shouldn't FRUs and Police be around where there's BERSIH thingy takes place?

Owh... we're so messed up...
Like a place just been hit by flood...

By the way, didn't FRUs or Police work on Aidiladha? Too bad, none of them was there in Kepala Batas to look after the 134 DiGi-sponsored cows. And don't be shocked if one day, our history will be rewritten and YELLOW in Jalur Gemilang will symbolize LEMBU. Betul tak Husin Lempoyang?

Ayam menang, kampung tergadai

I'm lost! WTF?! Who cares, the country is already in a mess, anyway).

CUTTT!!!

Takde nama watak lain ke? Balik-balik Ali, balik-balik Abu. Berilah nama yang glamour sikit, orang sekarang kan nama sampai tiga perkataan, nama macam Haziq Aiman ke Ashraf Sinclair ke... ehh letak le Muthusamy tak pun Balasundram, nanti diorang accused kita ethnic cleansing pulak.

Baik tuan direktor...

Screen One, Take Two... ACTION!!!

I'm lost! WTF?! Who cares, the country is already in a mess, anyway).

Cikgu Hans Isaac: Haniff Basri, bolehkah awak berikan contoh peribahasa 'ayam menang, kampung tergadai'?

So, how could these padi farmers lost nearly RM27.6 million just because of the rain/flood?! Shouldn't the RM17.5 billion allocated for NCER includes development of technologies or infrastructure that will ensure padi growing throughout the year, rain or shine?!

Instead, they (read the goverment) were really proud with their corns (read CON, as in CON MAN). And they dare to talk about turning farmers into agropreneurs??!! WTF, when you can't even survive rain and flood?!

Everyone knows padi or rice is our staple food and padi have been the main source of income for farmers in the north corridor. Maybe PL forgets that Kedah is called Jelapang Padi , not Jelapang Jagung. Owh... how could he forget, he sleeps all the time...

Makan cari cari jalan

At last, I've found something that Ipoh has to offer besides delinn wahahaha

It's Gunung Lang Recreational Park.
If you're traveling north on PLUS Highway, just make an exit at Ipoh Utara, towards Tasek. Not too far away from the exit, turn left after Petronas station into a small road that will take you to the entrance.

People said (which I've not experienced myself) the place is nice for bird watching, fish and monkeys feeding an it offers fresh air, chirping sounds of birds and nice smell of bunga taik ayam flowers. Just that they don't plant rare species of trees or flowers. Well, at least I can say the park is mini version of Kebun Raya in Bogor.

Indeed, it's very nice place to take pictures, wedding pictures, especially. Since there are no eating place, except some kuihs sold at the jetty, it's better to bring own foods and picnic-ing at the park. I did some (amateur) photographying with my parents, nieces and nephew.

And best still, it's cheap for a family outing...
A less-than-5 minute return boat ride cost only RM3 for adults.

If you're taveling north or south along PLUS highway, it's worth to take a half-day break at the park than making a stopover at the crowded and stuffy Sungai Perak R&R.

Cari cari jalan makan

I'm back from Ipoh for the Aidil Adha break.
As usual, raya break in hometown is always about foods, lots of them! In the first three days, I couldn't even burp in full and my fart was thin, as my burp (or the gas) were stuck somewhere around the breasts chest ;-) I only regained the satisfaction of burping on the 4th day of raya (Aidil Adha ada sampai 4th day ke? hahahah)

Anyway, those who like 'Laksa Kuale (Kangsar not Perlis)', if you think you'd find the best Laksa Kuale in Lembah area in Kuala Kangsar town, why don't try one stall by the street near Kg Basung. If you're using the trunk road from Kuala Kangsar to Sg Siput/Ipoh, it's less than 5km after Kuala Kangsar town and before the Sg Perak bridge. Very nice! although I still prefer laksa penang.

If you don't know, Laksa Kuale is made from wheat flour, instead of from rice flour. That's why it's yellowish, unlike the normally found whitish laksa.

You may also want to try coconut-lime juice. Very nice!!! and cheap cheap...
:-D

(from left to right)
1. Stop at this signage, you'll find one of the bestest Laksa Kuale
2. Coconut-lime juice and Laksa Kuale
3. Check on bapak while mak and Eddie menghirup kuah Laksa Kuale hingga titisan terakhir

Fire (not so) drill

It was rumored to be around 10.30am.
As early as 10.00am people especially those in higher floors have been taking elevators down to the lobby, so that they won't have to take the stairs during the drill unless they have this 'people with disability' special pass.

Unfortunately or fortunately, the drill didn't take place and everyone was back in his/her office with the feeling that the drill won't take place at all.

Unfortunately for them, the bell rang around 12.10pm... luckily I'm on the 5th floor so going down by stairs was a piece of cake. Went down prepared and armed with my camera, I took few pictures and like these two the most...

Luckily, cleaners uniforms were grey.
I was wondering, would FRU and the police come to disperse the gathering if the uniforms were yellow?!

Attendance taken, off we went to the nearby stall for a hot, juicy ayam kampung lunch.

Gone are the cowboys

Do not eat or drink while reading Malaysian dailies...

I was up early today and was having my breakfast. Well, one of men's best activities is reading newpapers quietly while having breakfast without someone interfere or nagging. Unfortunately, reading newspapers nowadays isn't recommended during breakfast as most news will make you choke and your breakfast would never taste the same, again.

Saw this pic in The Star and as usual I'll make myself choke looking at someone in the pic who looks so familiar to me.

And the captions reads:
"We can do it: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi chanting 'Hidup Barisan' together with Kepala Batas UMNO members after launching 'Gerak Gempur Barisan Nasional' in Kepala Batas, Penang, yesterday. - ASRI ABDUL GHANI / The Star"

Right away, the pic reminded me of this song... Paula Cole's "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" Kalau you all tak kenal Paula Cole, dia ni penyanyi perempuan yang tak cukur bulu ketiak. During award shows, bila dia menang award, dijulang-julang award tu sehinggalah menampakkan bulu ketiak dia yang lebat tu...

Where have all the men of UMNO Kepala Batas gone?
Is it a good or bad sign for UMNO and BN? Are Kepala Batas men already gave up to work for oppss... to work with PL (Pak Lah ye tuan puan, bukan Pak Lawak or Pak Lelap) or BN keeps them as pengundi hantu senjata sulit? Is it a good or bad sign for opposition parties, as 'tangan yang menghayun buaian' are in the safe hands of PL? recap: Ingat tak tangan Pak Lah di bahu Datuk Michelle Yeoh? baca sini

Where have all the men gone when the ladies were out with PL?
Maybe this was what the ladies told the men... "Why don't you stay the evening? Kick back and watch the tv? And I'll fix us a little something to eat?" Oh, last Sunday there were back-to-back football matches, AC Milan vs Boca Juniors, then Liverpool vs MU followed by Arsenal vs Chelsea. That's probably why the men stayed in...

And I could imagine those gerak gempur ladies continue to chant...
"Where is my Marlboro Man? Where is his shiny gun? Where is my Lonely Ranger? Where have all the cowboys gone?

And PL replied...
"Yippee yaw, yippee yeah... yippee yaw, yippee yeah... yippee yaw, yippee yeah... oh yippee yeah!" until he fell asleep

-----------------
On separate note, the caption says PL was with UMNO members during the launch of Gerak Gempur BN. Is UMNO or BN now confused?! If it was UMNO's function, why they waved BN's flag? And if it was BN's function, where were the likes of Letchumys and Mei Meis? Or maybe PL was sleeping during the function, that he didn't bother. After given some thoughts, maybe Hindraf's claims could be true and maybe there'll be Chindraf rallying on the street after this.

This.. errr.. the heartbreak kid

A friend strongly recommended me to watch this movie, for whatever reason which I don't know. After watching the movie trailer and reading the synopsis, well.. I'll watch it soon, very soon! Much much sooner than the also-strongly recommended Enchanted

Synopsis:
Eddie is thirty one forty, owns a sporting-goods store, and is still single. After watching two of his best friends his ex-fiancée walk down the aisle, he meets Lila, an environmental researcher, who seems too good to be true. Pressured by his father and best friend, Eddie pops the question and marries Lila after only 6 weeks. However, as he almost instantly discovers, his new bride is a nightmare with more baggage than he can handle. She's immature, foolish, a monster in bed, owes a tremendous amount of money to various sources, and as it turns out, is only a volunteer and doesn't actually have a job. While on their honeymoon in Cabo, Eddie meets Miranda, a down-to-earth lacrosse coach who is visiting with her family. Sparks fly, and Eddie falls for her. Now comes the tricky part of breaking off his marriage to crazy Lila, all while keeping the truth from Miranda about why he's in Cabo in the first place.

Ben Stiller, is Eddie Cantrow, who is 'a guy who could never commit (but) finally took a chance'... that sounds soooo familiar...

About CJ, anyone?

CJ = Chief Justice? No, no, no... I don't want to mess around with this VK Lingam's scandal on appointment of the CJ read here. This country is already in a mess.

A meal comprises of bacon swiss crispy chicken, beef chili fries and medium-sized iced lemon tea = RM28.80.

The satisfaction of having meals in CJ after 10 years = Priceless!!

I've been to CJ two times this month in two different locations, Midvalley Megamall and Sunway Pyramid. Well, some may find it sick, but I've been desiring to eat hamburgers in CJ since the first time I knew about it, 10 years ago! And if there's anyone inviting me for a burger meal in McDonald's or Burger King, I'd say "No thanks..." Trust me, fast-food burgers would never taste the same again after you tried CJ, except those stalls selling Ramly burgers lah, of course.

I suggest you try the one in Midvalley, it tastes better than the one in Sunway Pyramid. CJ in Midvalley is located outside the cinema, next to McDonald's but a bit crowded during peak hours. But, if you prefer a quieter moment to enjoy your meal and would like to take as long as you can enjoying your meal nak romen-romen ke, try the one in Sunway Pyramid. It's located at the last row of shoplots around the Marakesh area (new wing where there is Jusco), a bit hidden but guys, you can always ask around.

Tips for having your meal in CJ:
1. Shop when you're full (not hungry) but eat at CJ when you're really hungry.
2. Don't worry about messing up yourself while eating the big hamburgers. Even one of the taglines is "It's gonna get messy"
3. Not advisable to go there with father- or mother-in-law to be, especially if they eat at home using forks and spoons/knives.
4. Just go/pay for small- or medium-sized drinks, it's free refill. But knowing Malaysian, I don't know how long they're going to offer this :-p
5. Last but not least, after you paid your order, take your order number and go straight to your table. Don't wait at the counter for your burgers. This differentiate CJ with other fast-food restaurants where they'll deliver the burgers to the diners' table.

And...
An advice from Carl's Jr, whoever he is...

Enjoy!

FMTB or FBTM

Accountants or anyone who keeps inventory must be familiar with the acronyms FIFO or LIFO. But what's FMTB and FBTM. I just made them up, they're 'first movie then book' and 'first book then movie'.

Nowadays, it's always been the case when I asked someone his/her opinion about a movie I was about to watch, he/she would say something like, "...it's based from the book" or "...have you read the book?" And in all cases, I haven't read or even seen the book. What do you expect from someone who go to Borders (accompanying someone) to browse the cd section?  :-p

Anyway, I just watched "I Am Legend" which is also based on a book by Richard Matheson. And like in many cases before, I'd buy and read the book after I watched the movie. I've done it many times before and have reasons for it. Some people would read the book first before it goes to silverscreen, remember Harry Porter?

One of the main reasons for FMTB is that I need visualize what I read and assign actual person to the characters in the book. For instance, if I haven't seen the movie, I don't know who on earth should I assign to play Robert Neville's role, in my eyes? If that happens, I'll end up picturing myself as the lead character. Hehehe... but, I couldn't imagine myself playing Robert Neville, being a lone survivor in this planet, fighting vampires darkseekers and with no sex. Or I may assign my friend Cheng to play Robert Neville, adalah iras-iras Will Smith. Ada ke? Boleh laaa... hahahah... mampos nanti Bentara Guru bomohkan aku

But, some people argue why would I need to read the book after seeing the movie? Simple reason. There's so much details that were not captured in the movie. In I Am Legend, for example, the book details the progress of Robert Neville's discoveries to understand the plague that has infected everyone around him, which the movie didn't detailed much. In previous case, I had to re-watch The DaVinci Code after reading the book as I missed a great amount of details the first time I watched it. Luckily, I didn't end up buying the pictorial version of the book :-)

Futhermore, (according to wikipedia) Neville's psychological disposition is a significant element in the novel, and his struggles with despair imbue the character with intesity and gravitas -- which is not detailed in the movie. The author also emphasizez that he is an ordinary, flawed man trying to deal with an extraordinary catastrophe -- in the movie, Neville is a strong, muscular, fit, high-rank police officer, who obviously has been trained to use weapons. It also explores the loneliness of being by himself, excitement and hope of finding others, and disappointment over still finding himself alone -- in the movie, this was portrayed when Neville was trying to communicate with a still figure in the bookstore, that's it.

Overall, the movie was great. And Will Smith, as usual, was really great playing a character who is seriously disturbed and even abnormal at times. I can't forget the scene when he was crying having to put Sam to sleep, touched me the most.

And now I've seen the movie and I've got the book, just please do one thing for me. The next time you see me, online or in real life, please don't ask, "Have you finished reading the book?" Most probably, I'll only read the book during my next summer break in May 2008 :-D

4 nombor tolol

You expect traffic jam to ease these day with people going on year-end holidays.

And with that setting in mind, even a modest traffic jam would give you a strenuous headache. And those who cut queues using emergency lane doesn't help. For me, it doesn't matter if it's pretty chicks driving the car or old fat-bottomed ladies, if you cut queues, yourr attitude are just like 'pencacai tua pengangkat najis'.

Lelong, lelong, lelong... these are the 'pencacai tua pengangkat najis' I managed to capture.

Lelong, lelong, lelong...

Proton Waja WJH 1551
Proton Wira WKY 9154
Toyota Altis BGY 6107
Proton Waja BGP 4475
Perodua MyVi NBU 7050
Lori bawak susu Marigold BJL 2543
Perodua Kancil BGP 8147

"Bodoh! Kecik-kecik tak nak mampos, dah besar menyusahkan orang..." Dan yang potong aku pagi tadi tu, aku tak halalkan dunia akhirat, korang nak roh korang aman, mai sini mintak maap mintak halal dengan aku.

And if you're thinking of using any of the above numbers to strike jackpot this weekend, forget it. Bawak sial nombor-nombor tu...

Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?

Part IV

If you think of enlarging or implanting silicon to your 'small' breasts (not you, guys! kau belek-belek dada kau buat apa?), read this...

"Buah dada anda adalah sesuai dan sempurna untuk diri anda. Terima buah dada anda, jaga dan belai buah dada itu sebaiknya. Perkara paling utama adalah memakai coli yang bersesuaian dengan bentuk dan saiz buat dada. Jangan memakai coli yang saiz terlalu kecil, ini akan membuat anda tidak selesa. Apabila memakai coli yang kecil dan dada dirasakan seperti terkeluar, maka saiz itu adalah kecil."

If you think the best way to make your husband or future husband aroused (of course not you, guys!) is to appear naked in bed, you're wrong!

"Janganlah anda fikir dengan tanpa seuratpun benang di tubuh anda, anda dapat dengan terus menaikkan ghairah suami anda. Anda seharusnya memakai pakaian malam/tidur yang tipis dan menampakkan bentuk dan lekukan-lekukan tubuh anda – keadaan yang mana anda masih berpakaian tetapi kelihatan seperti ‘bertelanjang’ beginilah yang dapat menaikkan nafsu suami untuk hebat menggauli anda."

If you think men's nipples are there without any function (this is for women again, guys!), think again... and guys, if you haven't been working out (exercise, I mean, not sex), please do so...

"Tumpukan pada bahagian lain seperti dada, puting atau lengannya yang sasa."

Ok, this one for you guys...
On your first night, or whatever nights you want to feel like the first one, lie as much as if you can.. just lie... why? and continue to lie?!

"Suami yang mendekati isteri di malam pertama dengan pujian-pujian verbal mahupun tidak, patutlah menjadikan anda rasa gembira. Tapi samada itu adalah tanda cinta yang tulen, satu pujukan untuk melakukan hubungan seks, atau hanya tinggal pujian adalah bergantung kepada apa yang menyusuli perlakuan itu"

Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?

I searched for circumcision, and came to this blog, which have all the details of the above, and more...

Loh... tak habis lagi entry ni, korang dah bukak blog tu? Hmmm... dah le, entry ni dah habis and I might not be posting entries in these few days, busy with that blog. :-D

Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?

Part III

Childhood myths...

2. (dalam permainan kapal terbang kertas) Meniup-niup muncung kapal terbang kertas sebelum membuat lontaran. Expected result: Meningkatkan kelajuan kapal terbang, jarak, ketinggian dan jangka masa penerbangan.

Adulthood myth...

Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?

Corn... uncut

The first time I saw this print ad, one thing came to my mind...

Haa... mulalah tu benda bukan-bukan korang fikir yang aku fikir apa yang korang fikirkan. Hahahaha...

I was imagining how did the ad/creative agency presented this idea and what type of comments drawn from the management of Bonia. And how they finally settled with corn (not a mango or a papaya or perhaps, a banana) and the shapeand look of the corn? I've been a Secretariat for companies' management committee and know, vividly, the type of jokes they crack!

Or perhaps, this corn is the one grown under the RM51.2 billion government-funded NCER. Now I know, besides selling those corn in Tesco nationwide, they're grown to be models for advertisement, rupanya... :-p

From Doha to Ayam Gols

Actually, the original title for this entry was "Birthday lagi..." tapi aku tau korang dah jelak baca blog aku dua tiga hari ni asyik entry pasal birthday je. Hahaha, nak buat macam mana, dah orang nak celebrate my birthday this way, aku pasrah je lah. :-D

Okay back to the story...

Okay back to the story...
Check it out!

Ish lari lagi dari tajuk, okay back to the story...
DJ Awie lah tempat diorang ni melampiaskan nafsu diorang nak dengar lagu-lagu diorang sampaikan satu ketika tu, fungkurfm ni macam dah jadi rebanfm pulak. Jadi, memang tak patutlah kalau tak diraikan DJ Awie ni...

Too bad, kawe demam and couldn't make it, tapi bayaran untuk tok kadi terpaksa aku jelaskan juga walaupun tak jadi majlis penikahan tu.

Dan aku pun tak expect Awie nak bawak kek untuk bithday aku, so aku dengan ngilunya gigi aku, potong kek tu. (Dah, aku tak nak cerita banyak-banyak pasal birthday aku, korang dah jemu kan?

Okay, nah gambar from yesterday's gathering...
Haa... jangan nak komplen kecik, sape suruh tak datang?
Yang datang tapi komplen jugak, hmm korang dah ada kat situ semalam nak tengok apa lagi? :-)

clockwise from top, left most...
1. December babies, Awie dgn aku...
2. Apa kat pipi kau yang tersembul tu delinn? Boleh jual gambar ni kat syarikat jual ubat jerawat ni...
3. Arc, LB dan Serindit tengah buat mind-mapping, berapa besar kek diorang nak bedal...
4. Tatkala Arc cucuk lilin yang besar je, kiahronggeng pekop mulut, kenapa tah?
5. Lit up...

Mom

Happy 59th birthday, Mak!
Lots of Hugs and Kisses!!!

Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?

Part I

The most-asked question on my birthday, "How old are you now?"
The most response to my answer to the question, "Are you sure, you don't look that old?"

Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?

I'm sure many of you are jokingly poking your pointing finger to your throat when reading this statement. Never mind, in my next entry I'll give you tips and secrets on how not to look 31 when you're 31.

Part II

Yesterday, I got a package from perantauan. Since my birthday was just 2 days ago and still I can feel the hangat-hangat tahi ayam suam-suam kuku-ness of my birthday, I'll take it as my birthday gifts lah although I've seen the gifts via webcam four months ago.

What made me laugh was when I look at the Custom Declaration and Dispatch Note attached to the package. In the 'detailed description of contents', the sender put it as 'DOCS' (short form je, malas bebenor pun nak tulis 'DOCUMENTS'). And then, there is this bold, bigger font word 'T-Shirt' written next to the word 'DOCS". I believe it must be the Custom who wrote this, but I'm not sure whether it's American or Malaysian Custom.

I think, the Custom Officer must be swearing when he/she inspected the package. He/She must be thinking why does people need to lie when declaring to Custom? You know the answer lah, not really because we don't want to pay the tax but because not everything in the package will get to the final destination. :-)

The question is, until when we will not trust Custom? Sampai kapan? Kapan? Kapan? Hahahahaha... and Custom officers will continue to ask, "Kenapa? Kenapa? Kenapa? Tak percaya ke?!"

Anyway, thanks Joe!

See you in El Paso!

A season to remember...

Ranked #2 and with three matches against unranked opponents left has always been sexy to any college football team. But not without your star, Heisman front-runner QB. Not just that, you're without your 2nd and 3rd choice QB and was left with only two freshmen QBs to get the team going. That's the case for Oregon football team this season.

In fact, #2 wasn't a sexy position this season, which saw it changed hands eight times. The current #2 LSU is ranked at that spot for the third time. That adds to the eight different combinations among the top two teams in the AP poll and the loss of the top two teams, Missouri and West Virginia, in the final week of the regular season.

Dennis Dixon, whom the reason for the Ducks to stand tall this season, is the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year despite missing the final two games. That's a mere consolation, as the Heisman was in his hands before injuring his knee at Arizona. Anyway, he is still in the contention for the Maxwell or Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, or at least the Johnny Unitas Awad for top senior QB.

Anyhow, the Oregon Ducks are headed to El Paso, Texas for the Sun Bowl game on 31st December, to face University of South Florida Bulls. The Bulls, just like Ducks, was ranked #2 after winning its first six games, then dropped three straight before closing the regular season with another three wins.

So, bye for now. Til we meet again for the Sun Bowl.

Oh ya, the basketball season in underway. The Ducks are currently ranked #19 with 6-1 record. I'll be posting basketball updates after the Sun Bowl. Go Ducks!

One down, one to go

I got my Carl's Jr on my birthday, that's one down. Thanks Meg and Joe for treating me over lunch.

I still haven't got any reply from or received that most anticipated phone call, that's one to go. I'll keep on praying and waiting. Wish me all the best!

Turning into 30 last year was kinda hard. Although it's just an addition of 1 year (from 29 to 30), I felt as if I added 10 years to my age, from 20s to 30s. But this year is very much differrent. I feel as if I was reborn, as if I just turned 21 or even 11 or even 1. Hahahah... and my principe now, when it comes to birthday, I'll take the lower number from my age, e.g. if it's my 31, I'll take 1 and if it's 37, I'll take 3. Oh no... is it a sign of ageing?!

Anyway, thanks to all the wishes, verbally, via sms, email, phone calls, YM, comments in my blog or over Cbox in JP. TQVM, I really treasure them and will cherish all my life. Special thanks to Kuntum for the card (although it's dated 1st December) and this lovely tiny things to add to my collection of accessories. Thanks to delinn too for the birthday entry in her blog and for allowing me to be guest moderator to comments posted in her blog for that particular entry :-)

And as soon as they know Kuntum isn't around town that she's in Penang doing auditing, delinn, elf and kiahronggeng kidnapped me and treated me for a birthday dinner in Little Penang. It was just four of us, but it rocked the whole restaurant and I couldn't forget when they and one of the waiters there were doing this 'Miss World-wave' to each other, to get the waiter to come over to our table.

Okay, some pictures from the dinner.

Left most: The cake and the birthday boy and the finger and the fist
Right most: kiahronggeng and the cake. She said she'll send this pic to malimkundang for her eid greeting, next year
Middle top: The four of us who rocked Little Penang
Middle bottom: Yam, Elf and birthday boy busy eating. Where was delinn? What was she busy with?!

Some more, after/while still eating...
(Arc, you surely regret for not joining us!)

Left most: Elf breaking the ice
2nd from left: While delinn was warming up... oh there she was... betulkan anak tudung supaya lubang telinga dapat mendengar segala gossip
3rd column top: kiahronggeng kept the ball rolling, both mouth and hands were at work.
3rd column bottom: kiahronggeng kept going
4th column: While delinn was still listening, patiently (and surprisingly I believe)
5th column: "Kau boleh simpan ke rahsia-rahsia apa yang kita cakap ni," Elf was asking this birthday boy.
Right most top: delinn has finally warmed up and was giving her view on all the gossips which I've been refrained to write in my blog
Right most bottom: "Dah le tu delinn, dah masuk Maghrib ni... hentikan laaa..." birthday boy told delinn; otherwise it could go on until sahur time :-)

Thanks again, everyone. Surely, it was a day to remember.

The promiscous one

Got this from lunamaya's facebook...

A Saggitarian is...

Spontaneous,
High appeal,
Rare to find,
Great when found,
Loves being in long relationships,
So much love to give,
A loner most of the time,
Loses patience easily and will not take crap,
If in a bad mood stay far away,
Gets offended easily and remembers the offense forever,
Loves deeply but at times will not show it,
Has many fears but will not show it,
Very private person,
Defends loved ones with all their abilities,
Can be childish often,
Not one to mess with - you may end up crying,
Very pretty,
Very romantic,
Nice to everyone they meet,
Their love is one of a kind,
Silly, fun and sweet,
Have own unique appeal,
Most caring person you will ever meet,
Amazing in bed...

I kinda agree to some and disagree to some, while one, the last one of course, hasn't been proven yet!

Anyway, besides all the standard wishes like good health, great year, brighter fortune, bla bla bla... all I wish for the day, is a call I've been waiting and hoping for...

And Carl's Jr, anyone?

When favorites tumble

Like a Malay or Malaysian saying, "langit tidak selalunya cerah".

One favorite after another tumbled for the past one week.

First, Wong Mew Choo, Malaysian woman single badminton player, who defeated four Chinese players en route to winning the Chinese Super Series last week. She, who was prematurely refered to as 'world's badminton queen' by those RTM1 commentators before the final match, lost in the first round of the subsequent Super Series in Hong Kong and snubbed Malaysian press by walking away from them. Maybe she's ashamed especially with RTM1 team, who's commentators did the commentary of a badminton match like doing it for a horse race. I always hate watching RTM people doing sports' live commentary.

Then, Deborah Priya Henry, Miss Malaysia 2007 who was seen as hot favorite for the Miss World title, by bookmakers and websites, just managed to place herself in the top 16. Beauty pageants have never been my must-watch event boleh percaya ke? :-p but this year, I tried not to miss it, which I didn't miss :-) , hoping that it'll be a historical event for the country. And too bad, when we send this Indian-Irish parentage beauty queen, instead of those with 'mata sepet', to the contest, the judges are 'mata sepet'-taste when they selected Miss China to win the title.

Then, Malaysian's favorite sports (I assume it being Malaysian's favorite sports team too) lost to Vietnam 1-3 in their opening game of the Sea Games football competition. As I told you before, we're just like the England team, fans' favorite team but incompetent to win titles. And should I call the newly-appointed FAM officials to quit their posts and concentrate for the next general election, huh KJ? Or, maybe we shall declare sports like bowling or lawn bowl as our No. 1 sports!

And just this morning, the #18 Oregon Ducks football team lost its final game of the regular season to unranked Oregon State Beavers 31-38. And now the Ducks, which were in the national title picture after knocking off then-No. 4 Arizona State just a little less than a month ago, will be hoping for invitation to play in Emerald Bowl in San Francisco on 28th December.

Huh?

Anyway, December has always been my favorite time/month of the year. Besides my mom's birthday on the 7th, it is the time of the year when everyone (I think) is in holiday mood. Don't talk about those sales people working really hard to meet their target. And roads will also be less congested in December. Less bosses will be around in office and most of them will be holidaying abroad, and uncontactable in most cases.

And, 5th December 2005 is a day to remember when I was contacted to collect my offer letter to the current job. Would I get contacted again on 5th December 2007? Insyaallah... But, langit tidak selalunya cerah in December? Please don't remind me of the accident when my car was hit on the driver side by a moving car on a quiet, nice, breezy Sunday morning of 4th December 2005.

Guess what Samy Vellu's favorite statement now?
"Kerajaan terpaksa membayar pampasan sebanyak RM145 juta kepada PLUS, RM39 juta untuk Jambatan Pulau Pinang, RM32 juta untuk West Kuala Lumpur Highway, RM26 juta untuk Ampang Elevated Highway, RM75 juta kepada Litrak untuk Damansara-Puchong Highway dan RM27 juta untuk New North Klang Straits Bypass."
You think I want to thank you? Hmm no thanks... you're elected to solve that problem, not to pass it to the people. Just remember Mr Samy, favorites do stumble.

Kenapa Siti pilih lelaki A? part II

As promised, here's the answer to the quiz I posted earlier...

Before that, let's recap the question:
"Walaupun sifat keromantisan Lelaki B selalu menambat hati Siti, kenapak Siti tetap memilih Lelaki B?"

An anonymous 'yang pernah tumpang rumah ko...' has anwered the question correctly. He said, "Siti said (in one of her songs), "Cintaku bukan di atas kertas... cintaku getaran (vibrate mode) yang sama...""

Ok Doc, I owe you a meal although I think you should be banned from taking this quiz as I'm confident enough I've asked you this question on one Sunday afternoon while I was ironing my shirts!

And, a special mention award should go to kiahronggeng for her relentless effort in getting the answer right. She commented four times but I deleted two of them for questioning the cedibility of quiz organizer  :-D

Civil War

#18 Oregon Ducks vs Oregon State Beavers
Saturday, 1st December, 4.30pm EST
Autzen Stadium, Eugene, OR

Two weeks ago, Oregon was entertaining thoughts of winning a national championship. Now it just hopes to win another game. The 18th-ranked Ducks (8-3, 5-3 Pac-10) look to avoid a third straight loss when they host Oregon State (7-4, 5-3) in the 111th edition of the Civil War game Saturday. Not long ago, Oregon was the No. 2 team in the nation and riding a four-game winning streak thanks to Heisman Trophy candidate Dennis Dixon. The quarterback was lost for the season, though, when he re-injured his knee in the Ducks' 34-24 loss at Arizona on Nov. 15.

The Ducks and Beavers are tied for third along with UCLA in the conference - one game behind No. 13 Arizona State and eighth-ranked USC. Neither Oregon nor Oregon State holds the tiebreaker over the Bruins, who would win the Pac-10 title and secure a spot in the Rose Bowl in the event there is a four-way tie atop the standings. That would happen if UCLA defeats USC and Arizona State loses to Arizona. The Ducks, who have lost five starters for the year due to injuries and will start a redshirt freshman at quarterback Saturday, are mired in their second straight late-season collapse. Oregon lost its final four games of 2006, including a 38-8 defeat to BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl.

The Beavers look to win their third straight game and sixth in their last seven since starting 2-3. Oregon State, though, hasn't played since a 52-17 win at Washington State on Nov. 17. The Beavers forced a season-high eight turnovers - including seven interceptions - against the Cougars and could be in for another big day against Oregon's struggling offense. Oregon State hopes to have senior running back Yvenson Bernard in the lineup Saturday after he had surgery to clean up his right knee Nov. 20. Bernard rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries in limited action against Washington State.
Go Ducks!

Lights dimmed on Ducks

(This entry was written with 3:30 left in 4th Quarter)

Should Dennis Dixon stay healthy last week and judging from the way Ducks played early in the 1st quarter, Ducks would have easily beat the Wildcats. And Ducks would sit pretty at #2.

Should Dennis Dixon stay healthy this week, Ducks would have no problem outclassing UCLA; and with #1 LSU Tigers downed by Arkansas, Ducks would have been #1 when the new poll released on Monday.

Hopes are still high even without Dixon for Ducks to finish top of the Pac-10 and play in at least Rose Bowl or even Fiesta Bowl on 1st January. But, after three quarters of shutout by the Bruins, I dare not to hope, no one would. I didn't even stay up to watch the ESPN Gamecast like what I did many months before.

As I was sleeping next to my notebook and the ESPN Gamecast was showcassing Ducks-Bruins game, I occasionally open my eyes to look at the score and Ducks score didn't change - 0. I know Bruins are also having troubles to score with only a field goal in each of the quarter but Ducks are having more troubles - they're without even a field goal in every quarter. And I saw Ducks are using even its 4th QB, I don't know what happened to Bloody Brady Leaf but he just couldn't connect, the way Dixon did. Please don't remind me that Brady is the brother of NFL star QB, Ryan - this doesn't add value!

Anyway, it's been a season to remember. So close - to the National Championship and Heisman in Dixon - yet so far. I'll now set my mind to Holiday Bowl in San Diego on 27/12 or maybe Sun Bowl in El Paso on 31/12.
Oh... the game has just ended 0 to the Ducks and 16 to the Bruins. It was the first time Ducks been shutout since losing to Michigan 0-63 22 years ago.

A bit of recap of Ducks-Bruins game: Leaf left the field injured late in the 1st quarter. Jonathan Stewart, couldn't carry the team by himself as he has been hampered by a sore right big toe. The Pac-10's leading rusher with a 127.3-yard per game average was held to only 33 yards on 13 carries. And interestingly, out from nowhere, UCLA would get the Rose Bowl bid should UCLA upset USC and Arizona top No. 7 Arizona State on the last day of the regular season next week.

To the left, to the left

If you're in Malaysia now, Kuala Lumpur shouldn't be your destination this weekend. There'll be roadblocks by the police in major roads going into the city and for the second time this month, there'll be another large-scale gathering, this time organized by Hindraf "to submit a petition with 100,000 signatures to Queen Elizabeth II to appoint a Queen's Counsel to represent the Indian community in a class action suit against the British government for bringing Indians as laborers to the then Malaya and exploiting them" (The Star).

Well, if you think Kuala Lumpur is not safe, why not head to the opposite direction, Klang? There, you can visit the famous Istana Zakaria, without having to fear of getting caught or sprayed with chemicals by the police, though the mansion was built without approval thus, illegal. And it's free too, which money you can save for next year in helping the government to save RM380mil in payout to highway concessionaires by increasing toll rates!

Usually, those illegal things, opposition sides are called lefties. I just don't get why left is always considered bad when in fact those who are lefthanded are mostly creative people washing you butt after you poo poo must be creative, too, eh?. So, is being creative bad? I don't know...

Anyway, this is the best performance for me at the recent American Music Award. Enjoy! To the left to the left... (you may mute my imeem playlist to enjoy this video)

So, if you're in Malaysia now, where are you heading to this weekend? To the left, to the left... whatever that means...

==
The suit, filed at the Royal Courts of Justice in London by Hindraf chief, seeks compensation of up to US$4tril or US$1mil for every Indian in Malaysia. Samy Vellu should seriously urge the government to support this cause, which the government could use part of the US$4tril to bail pay highway concessionaires.

Oregon at UCLA

#9 Oregon Ducks vs UCLA Bruins
Saturday, 24th November, 3.30pm EST
Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA

The ninth-ranked Ducks look to bounce back from for a devastating loss and remain in the Pac-10 title chase when they visit battered UCLA on Saturday. Dixon re-injured his knee early in the Ducks' 34-24 road loss to unranked Arizona on Nov. 15, crushing his hopes of winning the Heisman Trophy. The defeat ruined Oregon's hopes of winning a national title as it committed four turnovers and allowed Arizona to score on an interception and a punt return.

The Ducks will have to do it without Dennis Dixon but to rely on running back Jonathan Stewart. Stewart rushed for 131 yards on 28 carries against Arizona, and has 1,273 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He ran for 121 yards on 20 carries in Oregon's 30-20 win over UCLA last year.

The Bruins were idle last week and most recently lost 24-20 at home to then-No. 9 Arizona State on Nov. 10. UCLA, which beat then-No. 10 California 30-21 on Oct. 20 for its only win in its last five contests, used its fourth quarterback of the season against the Sun Devils. Sophomore Osaar Rasshan, converted to receiver and then back to quarterback after the Bruins lost their first two quarterbacks to injuries, was 14-for-27 for 181 yards with an interception. He also ran for 41 yards on 13 carries.

UCLA averaged 32.4 points in starting 4-1, but since the injuries began to accumulate, the Bruins have averaged 18.0 points in their last five games. UCLA will try to avoid a fourth straight home loss to the Ducks, dating to a 34-29 win on Oct. 9, 1999.

Go Ducks!

I just call to say (part III)

background song: Harmoni (Zubir Ali)'s Penantian

Berapa lama mesti kunanti, sinar cahaya matamu...
Gemerlap bagai bintang, menghiasi malam...
Malam yang menutup diriku.
Penantian suatu siksa, yang tidak tertanggung...
Oleh tubuhku yang kering dan layu...
Kepastian suatu penawar, dalam suka dan duka
Yang meniti hidupku...

One waited since the last call on October 25, 2007 which one went on for an appointment two days afterwards.

25 days later, one received a call from a familiar number. One was in a conference and has to make his way out from the hall to take the call. Ironically, it was the same venue two years ago when One received a call which brought a new phase of life to One. Call it a place with good omen for One, One doesn't care.

One was required to send some documents for further review, which One did two days after the call. One was told to wait for maybe another week or two, for the next call.

One continues to wait.

Penantian suatu siksa, yang tidak tertanggung.....

And One's 2-week wait for someone to return from Australia has ended.. *a big grin*

And One is a top bloke, who blogs, whom someone call people like One goblok, who have coffee every morning. And One's coffee tastes better and sweeter in the new mug!

Kepastian suatu penawar, dalam suka dan duka.....

Kenapa Siti pilih Lelaki A?

(background song: Julio Iglesias' To All the Girls I've Loved Before)

To all the girls I've loved before friends, readers of my blog,

I've not much to blog these days, partly because of Oregon Ducks failure to sustain the pace to play in the championship match come New Year day. Call it the year of #2 upset (with 5 #2 teams lost this year), the best Ducks could hope for with two games remaining is Rose Bowl.

And not much happened to me these days, too. Primetime news is no longer a must-watch thing for me. I'd even trade snooker on ESPN than watching the propaganda-filled primetime news. Oh did I mentioned that I terminated movie channels on Astro (which now shows old and boring movies when I could get them free from internet) and save RM34 per month?

Just to let everyone knows that I'm still alive.

And here's a jokes for you, this was told during one event that I helped organize and before Siti Nurhaliza got married to Datuk Seri KJ (It's Khalid Jiwa not KJ nak termuntah kalau Khairy Jamaludin dapat Datuk Seri)...

"Ada dua orang lelaki hensem, berkumis, ganteng yang meminati Siti Nurhaliza. Dan Siti pun berdepan dengan dilema untuk memilih yang mana satu idaman kalbu... lelaki A ni bukanlah seorang yang romantis, tak pandai bermadah pujangga. Kalau berkomunikasi dengan Siti pun hanya melalui sms dan hanya menggunakan bhs sms yg semuanya diringkas-ringkaskan, cth: Hi, pkbr? Dh mkn? I br nk g lnch dgn kwn2. Ctch up ltr, k!

Persoalannya, walaupun sifat keromantisan Lelaki B selalu menambat hati Siti, kenapakah Siti memilih Lelaki A?"

Sila kemukan jawapan anda dalam ruang comments.
Takde hadiah laa, tapi kalau aku ada jumpa pemenang nya, aku belanja lah makan...
Jawapannya akan diumum 10 hari dari sekarang...

#2 Ducks downed

The curse of No. 2 claimed another victim.

Second-ranked Oregon lost Heisman Trophy candidate Dennis Dixon to a knee injury and never recovered in a 34-24 upset by Arizona on Thursday night. Oregon (8-2, 5-2 Pac-10) became the fifth No. 2 team to lose since Oct. 6, following USC, California, South Florida and Boston College. The Ducks' defeat could open the door for third-ranked Oklahoma in The Associated Press Top 25, and for No. 3 Kansas in the Bowl Championship Series standings.

Dixon, Oregon's gifted starting quarterback, hurt his left knee in the first quarter, about 7 minutes after he ran 39 yards for a touchdown. Dixon crumpled to the turf without being touched and took Oregon's national championship hopes with him. "My foot got planted in the ground, and my knee went the other way," Dixon told ESPN toward the end of the game.

Antoine Cason returned a punt 56 yards for a touchdown and an interception 42 yards for another score as the Wildcats shook up the national title race on a cool night in the desert. Red-clad students poured out of the grandstand as the Wildcats (5-6, 4-4) ambushed a ranked team in Arizona Stadium for the fourth straight season under coach Mike Stoops.

Brady Leaf, who replaced Dixon, completed 22 of 46 passes for 163 yards and threw two interceptions. Dixon finished 5-of-8 for 62 yards, and threw an interception. He carried twice for 34 yards. Arizona quarterback Willie Tuitama completed 21 of 39 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns, and was intercepted once. Mike Thomas caught two touchdown passes for the Wildcats. Oregon's Jonathan Stewart carried 28 times for 131 yards.

Early on, Oregon appeared to be on cruise control with Dixon running its potent offense, which came in averaging 42.8 points per game, fifth in the nation. The Ducks opened the game with a brisk seven-play, 70-yard scoring drive. On fourth-and-3 at the Arizona 39, Dixon froze the defense with a fake to Stewart, burst through a hole in the right side and ran untouched to the end zone. Ed Dickson ran for the 2-point conversion to put the Ducks ahead 8-0.

Oregon drove to the Arizona 4 on its next possession. Dixon fired a pass that bounced off Derrick Jones' hands, and safety Nate Ness grabbed the deflection and ran it out to the 45. Four plays later, the Wildcats scored on a 34-yard pass from Tuitama to Thomas, cutting Oregon's lead to 8-7. Then came the play that altered the national title race.

On second and 7 at the Arizona 15, Dixon's left knee buckled as he wheeled to his left on an option play. Dixon had sprained the same knee Nov. 3 against Arizona State, and wore a brace against Arizona. With older brother Ryan Leaf watching, Leaf replaced Dixon and completed his first pass. But Cason intercepted Leaf's third throw and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown to put the Wildcats ahead 17-11 early in the second quarter. That started an Arizona avalanche.

Tuitama hit Thomas for a 46-yard score and Cason's 56-yard punt return put the Wildcats ahead 31-11 with 5:30 to play in the first half. Trailing 31-14 early in the third quarter, Oregon had a 13-yard touchdown run by Stewart nullified on a holding penalty against receiver Garren Strong. The Ducks settled for a 34-yard field goal by Matt Evensen. Oregon pulled within seven on Andre Crenshaw's 2-yard touchdown run with 7:53 to go in the game. Arizona answered with an 11-play drive that ended in Jason Bondzio's 46-yard field goal with 3:20 to go.

Oregon is the highest-ranked visitor to lose at Arizona since the Wildcats knocked off No. 1 Washington on Nov. 7, 1992.

Oregon at Arizona

#2 Oregon Ducks vs Arizona Wildcats
Thursday, 15th November, 9.00pm EST
Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ

thanks Yahoo!

The recent bye week was beneficial for Dennis Dixon and the entire Oregon program. With their quarterback healthy and expected to start, the second-ranked Ducks return to action Thursday night when they visit Arizona in a Pac-10 matchup.

Oregon (8-1, 5-1) hasn't played since beating then-No. 6 Arizona State 35-23 on Nov. 3 to hand the Sun Devils their first loss of the season. It came a week after the Ducks beat then-No. 9 Southern California 24-17. The Ducks moved into the No. 3 spot in the poll following the win over Arizona State and went up one more position last week without playing after then-No. 1 Ohio State was upset by Illinois. Oregon's current ranking is its highest since ending the 2001 season at No. 2.

Oregon is also second in the BCS standings and could possibly earn a spot in the national title game - or at least the Rose Bowl - if it wins its final three games, starting Thursday at Arizona (4-6, 3-4). The Ducks will be trying for a sixth straight road win in the series, but the Wildcats snapped a seven-game overall losing streak to Oregon with a 37-10 victory last Nov. 18. After Thursday, Oregon plays at UCLA before closing the season at home versus Oregon State.

Dixon, who completed 13 of 22 passes for 189 yards and four touchdowns against Arizona State, is likely to start despite spraining his left knee in the fourth quarter of that game. The Heisman Trophy candidate has thrown for 2,074 yards with 20 touchdowns and rushed for 549 yards and eight scores. He's had time to heal and appears healthy enough to help the Ducks try for their fifth consecutive victory since a 31-24 home loss to then-No. 6 California on Sept. 29. The 6-foot-4 senior hopes for a better outing against Arizona on Thursday after going 14-for-22 for 88 yards with three interceptions in last season's loss.

While Dixon and the nation's fifth-ranked offense are averaging 41.7 points during the four-game winning streak, Oregon's defense has played better than its No. 74 ranking in recent weeks. The Ducks have forced five turnovers in their last two games, held USC to its lowest point total of the season and recorded nine sacks against Arizona State. Oregon, though, must overcome the loss of starting middle linebacker John Bacon, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Arizona, meanwhile, was also idle last weekend and will try for its third straight win after beating UCLA 34-27 on Nov. 3. Junior Willie Tuitama was 21-for-36 for 341 yards and three touchdowns for the Pac-10's top passing offense against the Bruins. Tuitama, eighth in the nation with 314.5 passing yards per contest, has thrown for 851 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception in his last two games, which included a 48-41 win at Washington on Oct. 27.

Tuitama has thrown for 3,145 yards and needs 183 to set the school's single-season record. He was efficient in last season's win over Oregon, going 8-for-9 for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Arizona is looking to avoid its third consecutive loss to a Top 25 opponent since a 24-20 victory over then-No. 8 California on Nov. 11, 2006.
