#18 Oregon 30, UCLA 20

Dennis Dixon threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns and No. 18 Oregon rebounded from a humbling loss with a solid 30-20 victory over UCLA on Saturday. Brian Paysinger had four catches for 105 yards and the Ducks (5-1, 3-1 Pac-10) while Jonathan Stewart ran for 121 yards. Going into the game, UCLA (4-2, 2-2) led the Pac-10 and was ranked second nationally in run defense, allowing an average of just 50 yards a game. But Ducks ran for 256 yards.

Oregon was fast and efficient on its first drive, scoring on an 11-yard pass from Dixon to Dante Rosario. The point-after was blocked by UCLA's Justin Hickman, making it 6-0. Jeremiah Johnson added a 7-yard touchdown run for the Ducks, before the Bruins made it 13-3 with Justin Medlock's 35-yard field goal. Before the end of the first quarter, Paysinger outsprinted Bruins free safety Dennis Keyes and caught Dixon's 26-yard pass in the end zone to make it 20-3. Medlock had a 48-yard field goal before the half to narrow it to 20-6.

James Finley caught a 4-yard TD toss from Oregon backup Brady Leaf in the second half after Dixon was hit hard earlier in the series. It was Leaf's only completion of the game. Bell's 1-yard scoring run to open the final quarter narrowed it to 27-13. Matt Evenson attempted a 45-yard field goal for the Ducks which fell way short, but he later made a 21-yarder that put the Ducks ahead 30-13. Bell scored on another 1-yard dash with 1:59 left in the game.
